MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Horizontal / Vertical

Constrain a line to the nearest horizontal or vertical sketch direction.

Purpose

Constrain a line to the nearest horizontal or vertical sketch direction.

Where to find it

While editing a sketch, open Constraints and choose H/V.

Selection

  • Tap one straight line.

Steps

  1. Choose H/V and tap the line.
  2. Confirm it snaps horizontal or vertical.

Options

Automatic orientation

MakerSolid chooses horizontal or vertical from the line's current direction; the tool has no numeric value.

Result

A Horizontal or Vertical constraint is added to the line while existing shared corners remain connected. Applying the same relationship again does not add a duplicate. An incompatible relationship is rejected without changing the sketch.

Editing

Use Manage Constraints in a relationship constraint panel and delete the orientation constraint to rotate the line freely.

Troubleshooting

The line chooses the undesired orientation.

Undo, rotate it closer to the intended axis, and apply H/V again.
