MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Show Sketch Dimensions

Show or hide the annotations for driving and reference dimensions while preserving their solver and measurement behavior.

Purpose

Show or hide the annotations for driving and reference dimensions while preserving their solver and measurement behavior.

Where to find it

In a sketch containing dimensions, use the ruler button in the lower-left footer.

Selection

  • The active sketch must contain at least one dimension before the ruler visibility control is shown.

Steps

  1. Create a driving or Reference dimension with Dimension.
  2. Tap the ruler to hide annotations when they obstruct the drawing.
  3. Tap the ruler again to show current dimension values.

Options

Show / Hide Sketch Dimensions

Controls annotation visibility without removing dimensions or changing whether they are Driving or Reference.

The Sketch footer includes a ruler control for dimension annotation visibility beside body visibility.

Driving measurement

Controls geometry through the solver even while its annotation is hidden.

Reference measurement

Reports the current measured value without driving geometry and continues updating while hidden.

Result

Dimension labels are shown or hidden; geometry, constraints, and measured values remain intact.

Editing

Show annotations and select a dimension to change its value, Driving/Reference state, orientation, or resize anchor.

Troubleshooting

The ruler button is missing.

Add a dimension to the active sketch first. The visibility control is conditional and is hidden when there are no dimension annotations.
