Carry one closed profile along an ordered path to create a constant or changing-section solid.
Purpose
Carry one closed profile along an ordered path to create a constant or changing-section solid.
Where to find it
Select a closed profile, choose Create > Sweep, and then pick the path.
Selection
Choose one closed Profile.
Choose a connected, unbranched Path from sketch curves, model edges, a construction axis, or the supported automatic tangent chain.
An optional Aux Path can control section placement.
Steps
Pick Profile and Path and choose the Path Selection mode. To join separately selectable pieces, turn on Composite Path and pick each piece in sequence.
Choose Operation and Target, then configure orientation, corners, placement, scale, and optional auxiliary path.
Use Advanced only when the default approximation needs tuning, then tap Apply.
Options
Path Selection
Controls whether MakerSolid uses the selected piece, a connected path, or an automatically expanded tangent chain.
Composite Path
Appends each new Path pick to the current path so a Helix, sketch curves, model edges, and straight pieces can form one continuous unbranched sweep path.
Clear Path
Removes every selected path component so a composite path can be rebuilt in a new order.
Distance
Limits the sweep to a distance along the path when partial-path distance is enabled.
Available when: Shown for a distance-limited path mode.
ƒ Accepts variables and expressions
Reverse Path
Starts from the opposite end and traverses the path in reverse order.
Operation
Creates a New Body or performs Join, Cut, or Intersect with Target.
New BodyJoinCutIntersect
Target
Chooses the body changed by a Boolean sweep.
Available when: Shown when Operation is not New Body.
Profile Placement
Controls how the source profile is anchored to the beginning of the path.
Orientation
Controls how the section frame rotates while following the path.
Corners
Controls the transition used where path segments meet.
Contact
Requests contact between the swept section and its support path.
Correct Section
Lets the kernel correct section orientation and shape where required for a valid pipe.
Linear Scale
Interpolates section scale from Start Scale to End Scale along the path.
Start Scale / End Scale
Set unitless scale factors at the beginning and end of the sweep.
Available when: Shown when Linear Scale is on.
ƒ Accepts variables and expressions
Aux Path
Adds a second guide path used to control the moving section.
Aux Contact
Controls how the section relates to the auxiliary path.
Available when: Shown after an Aux Path is selected.
Force C1
Requests first-derivative continuity in approximated sweep surfaces.
Tolerance / Boundary Tol / Angular Tol
Set geometric and angular approximation tolerances for advanced kernel construction.
ƒ Accepts variables and expressions
Max Degree / Max Segments
Limit the polynomial degree and segment count used by the advanced sweep approximation.
ƒ Accepts variables and expressions
Result
Apply adds an associative Sweep feature linked to the profile, ordered path, and optional auxiliary path. Referenced wire bodies such as Helix are hidden after a successful commit and remain editable in History.
Editing
Open Sweep in History to change its references and construction settings; a broken or branched path must be repaired or reselected.
Troubleshooting
The path is rejected or the sweep twists unexpectedly.
Use one connected unbranched path, reverse its direction if needed, and try a different Orientation or Corners mode before changing Advanced tolerances.
