MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Modeling tool

Box

Create an axis-aligned rectangular solid as a separate body at the world origin.

Purpose

Create an axis-aligned rectangular solid as a separate body at the world origin.

Where to find it

Open Model, open Create, and choose Box.

Selection

  • Box does not require an existing selection.

Steps

  1. Review the round Width, Depth, and Height defaults for the project unit, then enter your intended size or drag the striped area beside a value horizontally to adjust it. Move vertically within the striped area to change drag precision. Typed values commit as previewed, even between scrub increments.
  2. Review the preview and tap Apply.

Options

Width

Sets the box size along the world X direction.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Depth

Sets the box size along the world Y direction.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Height

Sets the box size along the world Z up direction.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Placement

Currently fixed at World Origin for primitive creation.

Operation

Currently fixed at New Body, so the primitive does not automatically join another body.

Result

Apply adds a Box feature and a new solid body to History.

Editing

Open the Box feature in History to change its dimensions. Lengths are shown and entered in the current project unit, which appears beside each field; downstream features rebuild from the edited box.

Troubleshooting

Apply is unavailable or the preview is empty.

Use positive nonzero values for all three dimensions and correct any invalid variable expression.
