MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

concept

Projects, Browser, and design history

Organize project objects and safely edit the ordered feature history.

Project files

Each MakerSolid project stores its editable sketches, features, bodies, variables, appearances, and imported source assets. Save keeps the project package current. Share sends the editable `.makersolid` package; export creates manufacturing or interchange files.

Browser

Browser lists bodies, sketches, construction references, imported STL reference meshes, and groups. Use it to select, rename, show, hide, lock, group, or remove supported objects. Hiding changes the view without deleting design history.

History

History is ordered: later features may depend on earlier sketches, bodies, faces, edges, axes, or planes. Select a history item to edit its available parameters. Length fields show the current project's unit beside the value. For example, an extrusion created at 1 in reopens in History as 1 in; switching the project to millimetres shows the same physical distance as 25.4 mm. Entered lengths use the displayed project unit. Deleting an upstream item also affects dependent work and is accepted only when the remaining model can rebuild.

Undo and Redo reverse editor changes in order. If an edited feature breaks a later reference, restore a valid input or undo the edit.
